In 2017, a group of artists established their workspaces at Ed. Almeida - a building located in the center of Belo Horizonte. Closed for fifteen years, the 15-story building had its first floors occupied with ateliers and collective spaces, based on the initiative of the Ja.ca-Centro de Arte & Tecnologia in collaboration with Ernesto.
T+T (brickworks) starts from the negotiation with the building administrator, when proposing to commission an exhibition, for the purchase of a set of thousands of bricks, being this the only material required. The bricks would be the material for a series of actions with other agents, during 3 months.
In a performative and provocative way, thousands of bricks arrived at the building and promoted an initial obstruction process, since the only access to the huge building was a small door facing the street. The thousands of bricks gradually went up the building, gaining new uses and temporary places until they reached the seventh floor. On November 25, 2017, the 7th Floor exhibition was inaugurated, on the homonymous floor of the Almeida building and was open to visitors for 3 months.
Em 2017, um grupo de artistas estabeleceu no Ed. Almeida- prédio localizado no centro da cidade de Belo Horizonte- seus espaços de trabalho. Fechado por quinze anos, o edificio de 15 andares teve seus primeiros pavimentos ocupados com ateliês e espaços coletivos, a partir da iniciativa do Ja.ca- Centro de Arte & Tecnologia em colaboração com a Ernesto.
Ao se propor a comissionar a exposição, foi-se requerido à intituição a compra de um conjunto de milhares de tijolos, sendo este o único material necessário para a exibição em questão. Os tijolos seriam o material para uma série de colaborações e desdobramentos , durante 3 meses no edifício.
De maneira provocativa, milhares de tijolos chegaram ao edificio e promoveram um processo de obstrução inicial, uma vez que o único acesso no enorme edificio era uma pequena porta voltada pra rua. Os milhares de tijolos foram aos poucos entrando pela porta, subindo pelo edifício, ganhando novos usos e lugares temporários até chegarem ao sétimo andar. No dia 25 de Novembro de 2017 inaugurou a exposição 7º Andar, no andar homônimo do edificio Almeida e durante 3 meses ficou aberta a visitação.
